Passover and Easter have been quite tough on the food front. But how can you lose that excess fat we hear you ask? Well that is why we created the aceRESET to help you get back on track after being out of routine for a period of time.
If you’ve caught up with our latest aceCHATS podcast, you’ll know that all of us ate way more than usual and were left feeling bloated, sluggish and raring to get back to our usual eating, work, and exercise schedule!
So how do we get back on track when this happens? Please forget the detox juice cleanses – our livers take care of this for us, and don’t bother cutting out major food groups like going low carb, because your body needs carbs for energy.
Here are our top tips:
- Listen to your body: really, trust yourself! Your body knows what it needs to thrive. After a period of indulging in foods that are not part of your everyday diet, chances are your body will be left craving nutritious options. You might feel more drawn toward a big, colorful salad rather than a cookie.
- Let go of negative thinking: stop self-sabotaging!! Eating more than usual during festivities is part of a healthy and balanced diet. Yes, even if you end up putting some weight on! Food is there to nourish not only the body, but also the soul. Don’t ruin great memories by beating yourself up over a few days. Put them into context, a week is a really tiny percentage of a whole year. The more you stress and dwell on this, the more out of proportion you are making it.
-
Take action: if you can’t shake the feeling that you messed up, do something! Get in touch now and check out our aceTRANSFORM. You will not regret it!
- Break it down: don’t try to fix everything at once, take it one step at a time. Look back at what you were doing before Passover/Easter. What’s different now? Try implementing small changes one week at a time, start by focusing on your food increasing your fruit and veg intake, the next week you can focus on step count, then try adding one workout in a week, until you feel this is manageable then build from there.
- Track it: be accountable to yourself and others! A simple accountability calendar can help you visualise how well you’re doing on your journey. It’s so simple, yet there is something extremely rewarding and satisfying in giving yourself a tick for every task you achieve. And if you join our programme, you will find out for yourself how powerful accountability can really be!
- Make sure that you have a fridge full of fresh food and produce. This will make it easy to create healthy meals. Check out this aceRECIPE which has gone viral to help you meal prep some quick and easy meals!
